2023 POSTCARD FROM MALLORCA Thursday 5 October–Saturday 14 October 2023

I had a good flight from Heathrow to Mallorca, sitting next to a delightful guy who worked in Duty Free around the world!  Based in Miami but has a home in Mallorca and was on his way to meet up with his wife and family.  We had a very interesting journey in the air!

My taxi driver had difficulty in finding my hotel in Soller, but eventually she did, and I then spent the evening unpacking and sorting myself out and enjoying a glass or two from a kind gift left my girlfriend who recommended the hotel to me.

 

After that my days were spent quietly by the pool and then enjoying local restaurants in the evening. 

 

My hotel was very small but I had a room with a lovely view [see sunset from my room below].  Sadly however the pool was unheated and small and it was 60 steep steps from the pool/breakfast room to my room!  That was my daily exercise!

 

At least, thankfully the sun shone for ten days, although the mossies regularly enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner off me!

 

The manager of the hotel had to help me take my luggage on departure as the taxi could only park a good five minute walk away down a difficult path.  Once at the airport, had an easy journey home.
